The women’s ministry of St. John is devoted to helping women cultivate a Catholic lifestyle in women of all ages! Through bible studies, small groups, quarterly mornings of inspiration and nights on the town we are an active group! If you have any questions or want to join anything and don’t know where to start, Colleen Duggan is the director and can lead you in whichever direction you choose. Beholding His Glory Bible Study
Lead by Kelsey Hughes
First meeting in September
Mission: Beholding Your King, a nine-lesson Bible study, is the second part of a two-part series and is ideally completed after Beholding His Glory.
We live in a self-centered culture that all too often leaves us feeling empty and dissatisfied. A fuller view of God and His glory is the perfect antidote to this, and Beholding Your King delivers that fresh perspective. Picking up where Beholding His Glory leaves off, the story of salvation history is continued. We’ll look at King David, select psalms, the temple, and many Old Testament prophets and see the ways in which they all point to the coming King of kings, Jesus Christ.
The Well Read Woman:
Leader: Elizabeth Serio/Colleen Duggan
Once a month beginning in September through May at 7 pm
Mission: The program incorporates a movement of women who are accompanying one another in reading the classics, great books, and timeless spiritual works from the Western and Catholic tradition in order to awaken the moral imagination to a greater truth of reality.
Looking for friendship rooted in Christ with other mothers? Want solid friendships for your children? Then come to the The St. John’s Mom’s Fellowship Group Meet and Greet next Friday, September 29 at 10 am in the basement of the parish center. We will have a brief social and update you about the upcoming events we have planned for the year.
The Saint John’s Mom’s Fellowship Group is a ministry to the parish that provides an opportunity to connect with other moms through prayer, fellowship, and activities. Our goal is to support women in our roles as mother and wife, particularly as we strive to raise our children in the faith. We will meet on the first and third Friday of the month from 10-11:30am. The first Friday will be a planned, local outing. The third Friday will meet in the parish basement with time provided for prayer in the adoration chapel, fellowship, and planned activities for the children.
