WELCOME TO ST. JOHN CATHOLIC CHURCH

We are a community of Catholic Christian believers, in communion with the Archdiocese of Baltimore. In the spirit of love, hospitality and social justice, we serve the people of the greater Westminster area.

We believe that through the faith we share, we become family to one another in Jesus. Through education, evangelization, charity and service, we are called to use our diverse gifts to grow together and encounter Jesus in word and sacrament.

Word From our Pastor

Welcome! We are called to grow in our faith, be formed as disciples and help transform the world by the joy of the gospel. You are invited to join our parish family as we head to deeper waters, experience the presence of Christ and encourage one another to live a life worthy of the call we have received.  He is calling, let’s respond together as, “one body, one spirit in Christ.”

NEWS

We must never give into our fears, but aspire to our greatest hopes through the power and light of Christ's resurrection. Here is a challenging but necessary homily on the 3rd Sunday of Easter as we seek to live in Christian charity with one another. May the Joy of the Gospel be our guide as we set sail from the safety of the harbor for deeper waters.

Fr. Mark’s Challenging Homily

Fr. Mark's challenging homily for the 3rd Sunday of Easter as he calls us not to give into our fears and react from them, but to live in the light and joy of the resurrection as God brings about renewal.

In the early hours of Friday morning John, Terri, Jonathan, Hannah and Nicolas Pierce lost their home to a devastating fire. As part of our Saint John parish and school family we have established the “Pierce Family Fund” to help provide for their needs over the coming months as they begin to rebuild. We will be taking a collection at Saint John next weekend, March 17-18th, at all Masses. You can also donate directly here: http://www.givecentral.org/location/508/event/15349Thank you in advance for your generosity and please keep the Pierce’s in your prayers.

My homily for Ash Wednesday as I called our Saint John parish family to a time of renewal. It's time to have a "burning in our soul!" Ashes are a byproduct of purification and becoming "the best version of ourselves."
