Founded to bring together “Young at Heart” senior parishioners (50 years of age and older) and to give them the opportunity to express themselves socially and spiritually. The Club serves the parish and assists the pastor in a variety of ways, as needed. The group meets at 12 noon on the 4th Thursday of each month, beginning with Mass in the church. A brown-bag lunch and business meeting follow in The Portico of St. John. Guest speakers and activities are scheduled, covering varied subjects, all of which are of interest and concern to our age group. We also enjoy one-day trips, picnics, and “pot-luck” luncheons.

Members (women aged 18 and older) are involved in spiritual works of mercy. Upon request of the family, they will lead the recitation of the Rosary at a funeral home. Each spring, they organize the May Procession in the church. Meetings are held on the second Sunday of the month through the school year. Members attend the 8:45 a.m. Mass, followed by praying of the rosary in church and their monthly meeting in the parish center.

Knights of Columbus
Council #1393 was organized in 1909, bringing together Catholic men, 18 years and older, to promote and support Church, fraternal and civic activities. Meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at The Portico of St. John Church. Potential member’s credentials are reviewed by a special committee that then recommends him to the entire Council as a worthy candidate. Our pastor serves as our spiritual advisor and Chaplain. Members pass through three steps or degrees in the process to full knighthood. A fourth degree of knighthood is optional. Visit the Knights of Columbus website at http://www.kc1393.org/.
