Saint Celebration: Potluck and Adoration

Friday, September 19, 2025 @ 5:30 pm

Celebrate the Church’s newest saints!

In honor of the canonizations of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati and Blessed Carlo Acutis on September 7, our parish family is coming together for a potluck meal in the Portico to celebrate these new saints. Main dishes and drinks will be provided by the parish. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share! Sign up to bring food here.

An hour of outdoor adoration follows dinner at 7pm!
Bring your own chairs or blankets. In the event of rain, adoration will be inside the church.

Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901-1925)
Pier was a young Italian man who was affectionately called the “Man of the Beatitudes” by St. John Paul II for his exemplary work of bringing comfort and happiness to those who were poor, suffering, meek, hungry, thirsty, and in need of mercy, and who was himself clean of heart, a peacemaker, and persecuted for the sake of the Gospel (cf. Mt 5:3-10). He died at the young adult age of 24 while in charitable service to the people who were sick and dying in his community. (USCCB)

Bl. Carlo Acutis (1991 – 2006)
An Italian teenager who died from leukemia, Carlo was a gamer and computer programmer who loved the Eucharist, a devotion that inspired him to create a website documenting Eucharistic miracles. He will be the Church’s first millennial saint!
